Ironing board cover sizes UK: size chart and measuring template

Ironing boards in the UK come in several sizes, and a cover only works well when it matches the board underneath. This page gives you a UK size chart, a printable measuring template, and an honest answer for sizes the ROBINAZ cover is not listed for.

The ROBINAZ 4-layer padded cotton cover is listed for two UK board sizes: 125 × 45 cm and 122 × 38 cm. It is sold and delivered by Amazon UK.

Which UK board sizes does the ROBINAZ cover fit?

The ROBINAZ cover is listed for UK boards of 125 × 45 cm and 122 × 38 cm. Measure the length from the pointed nose to the flat end and the width at the widest point, then find your row in the chart below.

Sizes are length × width of the board's top surface, in centimetres. The cover's elasticated edge, drawcord and two underboard straps pull it taut on the listed sizes.

What if my board is 122 x 45, 124 x 45, 130 x 45 or 140 x 45 cm?

We do not fit these sizes: the ROBINAZ cover is listed only for 125 × 45 cm and 122 × 38 cm boards. Measure your board again carefully, and if it really is one of these sizes, choose a cover that is listed for it.

A measurement a centimetre or two out is common, especially if you measured over an old, stretched cover. Take the old cover off and measure the bare board before deciding. If you are still unsure, email info@robinaz.co.uk with your length and width and we will tell you whether the ROBINAZ cover is listed for it.

How do I use the measuring template?

Print this page, fold the board flat, remove the old cover and fill in the template below with a soft tape measure. Write down the length, the width at the widest point and the shape of the nose, then compare them with the chart.

MeasurementHow to take itYour board (cm)
LengthPointed nose to the flat end, along the centre line________
Widest widthStraight across at the widest point________
Width near the noseAbout 10 cm back from the tip________
Nose shapePointed or rounded________

Measure the top surface only, not the legs or the iron rest. On curved edges, use the widest span rather than an average. Our guide on how to measure your ironing board for a cover explains each step.

Why does the right size matter?

A cover that is too small will not reach under the board, and one that is too large will not pull tight. Either way, wrinkles can form, and creases in the cover can mark the garment you are ironing.

A matching cover sits flat, the nose pocket anchors it at the pointed end and the straps hold it in place. See the full ROBINAZ ironing board cover details.

How do I fit and care for the cover once I have the right size?

Lay the cover face down, place the board on top, pull the elasticated edge around it, then tighten the drawcord and the two underboard straps until it sits flat. Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle and air dry.

Do not tumble dry, as heat can shrink the padding. More care advice is in how to wash and care for an ironing board cover.

Frequently asked questions

It is listed for UK ironing boards of 125 × 45 cm and 122 × 38 cm.

Does the ROBINAZ cover fit a 130 x 45 cm board?

No. We do not fit 130 × 45 cm boards. Choose a cover that is listed for that size.

Should I measure over the old cover?
