Ironing Board Cover in Newcastle upon Tyne
Newcastle's Tyneside flats, a form of terraced housing particular to the area, along with student housing in Jesmond and Heaton and newer apartments by the Quayside, make for compact homes where ironing happens in the living space. A quick-fit cover on a standard board suits that style of living.
Why Newcastle upon Tyne customers choose ROBINAZ
The water supply in the Newcastle area is generally soft to moderately soft, so steam irons are fairly easy to look after. The cover brings a thicker, 4-layer padded surface to the board, which cushions seams and buttons and gives cotton shirts and bed linen a flatter finish. The elastic edge and underboard straps keep it from slipping during longer sessions.

Good to know in Newcastle upon Tyne
- Tyneside flats often have little storage, so choose a board that folds flat and a cover that fits it snugly.
- Check your supplier's hardness data if you use a steam iron regularly.
- Air dry the cover after washing at 30°C.
The 4-layer padded design
Cotton top layer
Smooth cotton surface glides cleanly under a hot iron.
Felt padding
Roughly 6–7 mm of felt cushions the board frame so it doesn't imprint on darker fabrics.
Foam layer
Adds bounce and helps steam disperse evenly through the fabric.
Non-slip backing
Holds the cover in place on the board frame during longer ironing sessions.
Size guide before ordering
The ROBINAZ cover fits UK standard boards — typically 122×38 cm and 125×45 cm. Measure the top surface of your board (length × width at widest) before ordering. If your board is between sizes, our size guide shows how the elastic edge accommodates a small margin of variation.
